Engr. Sunday Kolawole Presents Agenda for Yagba West House of Assembly Seat

Engr. Sunday Kolawole has outlined a broad agenda aimed at addressing key challenges facing the people of Yagba West Local Government Area as he seeks election into the Kogi State House of Assembly.

Kolawole said his plans focus on critical sectors such as security, education, healthcare, and the empowerment of women and youths, noting that effective representation requires a clear understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people.

Security

On security, Kolawole said he intends to work closely with colleagues from neighboring local governments to facilitate the establishment of a joint security framework that would strengthen safety across communities. He also pledged to support initiatives of the executive arm of government aimed at tackling insecurity in the state.

He further noted that local hunters and vigilante groups would receive necessary encouragement and support to enhance community-based security efforts.

Education

In the education sector, Kolawole said he would advocate for legislation that would encourage the Kogi State Government to fully participate in the Universal Basic Education Scheme. According to him, this step would help reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state.

He also promised to introduce a bursary scheme for students of government-owned tertiary institutions and promote reading culture among young people through the establishment of a well-equipped constituency library.

Health

Kolawole stated that improving access to quality healthcare would also be a priority. He said he plans to carry out routine visits to primary health centres across the constituency to assess their needs and ensure they function effectively.

He added that he would collaborate with the executive arm of government to ensure adequate attention is given to general hospitals, while also organizing periodic free medical outreach programmes for residents.

Women and Youth Empowerment

Speaking on empowerment, Kolawole said a register would be created at the constituency office for unemployed youths to submit their curriculum vitae, with the aim of connecting them to available job opportunities.

He also pledged continued support for artisans and market women in the constituency, with initiatives designed to strengthen their businesses and improve their economic prospects.

Kolawole maintained that his plans are aimed at providing purposeful representation and addressing the pressing needs of the people of Yagba West.
