Pro-Tinubu Group Unveils Abuja Rally

A political support group operating under the George Akume Progressive Movement has announced plans to stage a 1,000-man solidarity march in Abuja in backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Director General and Coordinator of the movement in the North Central, Abdulganiyu Abdullahi, who said the rally would take place in the coming days as part of efforts to consolidate support for the administration.

Mobilisation Across North Central

Abdullahi said the planned march is being driven by growing grassroots mobilisation across the North Central region, noting that coordinators are actively engaging citizens in support of the administration’s policies and long-term political direction.

He commended the leadership structure of the movement, including the National Secretary, Faith Abdullahi, and state coordinators, for what he described as sustained commitment to unity, development, and political consolidation.

According to him, no fewer than 187 affiliated groups have aligned with the movement, reflecting what he termed expanding support for the President’s agenda.

Backing the Renewed Hope Agenda

The group reiterated its endorsement of President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” citing efforts aimed at economic growth, national security, and community development.

Abdullahi noted that the movement’s activities are geared toward strengthening political structures and mobilising support ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

Call for Political Stakeholders to Join

In a direct appeal, the coordinator called on elected officials across the North Central—including governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, and state legislators—to align with the movement.

He described the planned rally as a “historic programme” designed to reinforce unity and deepen democratic participation in the region.

Anticipation Builds Ahead of March

The group also indicated it is expecting broader participation from political stakeholders and supporters, including Stanley Oduah, as preparations for the march gather momentum.

Abdullahi expressed appreciation to volunteers and stakeholders contributing to the initiative, describing their efforts as critical to sustaining the movement’s objectives.

Focus on Political Consolidation

Observers say the planned demonstration reflects ongoing efforts by pro-government groups to consolidate political support across key regions, particularly as alignments begin to take shape ahead of the next general election cycle.
