Akure Tasks Constituents on Unity, Peaceful Coexistence at Easter

Dr. Toyosi Akure, an aspirant for Yagba West State Constituency seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly, has urged residents to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence as they celebrate the Easter season.
Akure gave the advice in a statement issued on Sunday, describing Easter as a period that calls for deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, humility and hope as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
He noted that the lessons of Easter should inspire citizens to rise above divisions and work collectively for the progress of their communities.
According to him, no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of discord, stressing that peace remains the foundation upon which sustainable growth is built.
“As we celebrate Easter, I urge our people to renew their commitment to peaceful living, mutual respect and shared responsibility for the development of Mopamuro,” he said.
Akure further called on youths to channel their energy into productive ventures and resist any attempt to be used as instruments of violence or disruption.
He also emphasised the importance of dialogue and tolerance among political actors and community stakeholders, especially as the state gradually moves towards another election cycle.
The aspirant expressed optimism about the future of Yagba West, noting that with unity and a common vision, the constituency could witness accelerated development.
Akure congratulated Christians on the successful completion of the Lenten season and wished them a peaceful and fulfilling Easter celebration.
