A Yagba West State Assembly aspirant, Engineer Sunday Kolawole, has extended Easter greetings to Christians across Kogi State and beyond, while calling for renewed faith, unity, and support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a message released in Lokoja to mark the 2026 Easter celebration, Kolawole congratulated the Christian faithful on the successful completion of the Lenten season and the commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which he described as a symbol of hope, sacrifice, and redemption.

The aspirant also conveyed his goodwill to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, and the people of the state, urging collective reflection on the spiritual significance of the season.

Kolawole called on citizens to remain steadfast in prayer and renew their faith in God, especially at a time when the nation continues to grapple with challenges in infrastructure, security, and human development. He stressed that Easter provides an opportunity for both Christians and non-Christians to embrace values such as love, tolerance, sacrifice, and forgiveness.

According to him, the message of Easter, rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, offers a pathway to peace and a more hopeful future for the country. He urged residents to promote peaceful coexistence and work in collaboration with security agencies to maintain law and order in their communities.

The Yagba West aspirant also appealed for continued prayers for the leadership of the state, particularly Governor Ododo and his deputy, asking for divine wisdom and guidance in governance and decision-making for the benefit of the people, especially the vulnerable.

In a political dimension to his message, Kolawole encouraged youths in Yagba West and across Kogi State to support the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that sustained backing for the administration would help consolidate ongoing national development efforts.

He further called for unity among citizens, emphasizing the need for collective action in building a more prosperous and stable society.

Kolawole concluded by wishing Christians a peaceful and fulfilling Easter celebration, urging them to reflect on the enduring lessons of the season as they contribute to the growth and development of their communities.
