World Bank, FPMU Team in Kogi to Review ACReSAL Projects and Strengthen Engineering Compliance

World Bank and FPMU delegation visit Kogi State to assess ACReSAL projects, review engineering standards, and enhance sustainability of civil works.

A delegation from the World Bank and the Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU) has arrived in Kogi State for an engineering support mission aimed at reviewing ongoing infrastructure projects under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) programme.

The team, led by Engr. Ayo Odebiyi of the World Bank, is expected to evaluate the progress of civil works, ensure adherence to approved engineering designs, and identify technical challenges requiring intervention. The mission is also focused on enhancing the long-term sustainability of the projects.

Welcoming the delegation, the Project Accountant expressed appreciation for the continued support from the World Bank and FPMU, noting that the state government, under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, remains committed to tackling land degradation and promoting environmental sustainability.

Members of the delegation include FPMU engineers, Musa Ayanwola and Ugo Onyedikachi, who are part of the technical team conducting assessments across project sites.

The visit is expected to provide strategic insights into improving project delivery, ensuring that investments achieve their intended objectives while maintaining compliance with global standards.

ACReSAL, a World Bank-supported initiative, is designed to enhance environmental resilience and promote sustainable land management practices, particularly in states vulnerable to climate-related challenges.
