Yagba West Youths and Stakeholders in Lokoja Endorse Tinubu, Ododo and Ibikunle Idowu for Second Tenure

Lokoja
Youths and stakeholders from Yagba West Local Government Area residing in Lokoja have declared their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the member representing Yagba West Constituency I in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ibikunle Idowu.
The endorsement was made during an engagement programme organised by the Area Council Youths and Stakeholders of Yagba West in Lokoja, where participants used the gathering to express their preference for the three All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates to continue in office.
The programme, themed as “Area Council Youths & Stakeholders Yagba West Engagement/Endorsement of APC,” brought together Yagba West indigenes and stakeholders living in the Kogi State capital.
Participants endorsed President Tinubu for a second term at the federal level, Governor Ododo for another term as Governor of Kogi State, and Hon. Ibikunle Idowu for a second term in the Kogi State House of Assembly.
The gathering also featured prominent Yagba West stakeholders, including Chief (Mrs.) Deborah Oshatimehin and Hon. Jones Dada, among others.
The endorsement, according to the participants, was an expression of confidence in the leadership and political direction represented by the three APC candidates. They emphasised the importance of continuity, sustained representation and the need to support leaders whose programmes and political structures, in their view, align with the interests of their communities.
Particular attention was also drawn to the grassroots leadership of Hon. Olusegun Joseph, Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management in Kogi State, whose leadership was prominently recognised during the engagement.
The organisers and participants eulogised Joseph for what they described as his grassroots-oriented approach to leadership and his ability to maintain contact with people at the community level.
They noted that effective political leadership goes beyond occupying public office, stressing that accessibility, engagement with the people and the ability to mobilise communities remain important factors in building lasting political structures.
The event was convened by Otunba Adekolade Dele Samuel, under the leadership of Hon. Olusegun Joseph, with the engagement providing an opportunity for Yagba West stakeholders resident in Lokoja to discuss their political choices and publicly identify with the APC candidates.
The participants’ endorsement adds to the growing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly as various groups and community-based stakeholders continue to mobilise support for candidates and political causes across Kogi State.
The Yagba West stakeholders at the Lokoja engagement, they all want continuity at the presidential, state and constituency levels, with their support directed towards Tinubu, Ododo and Ibikunle Idowu for second terms.
