Village Boy Movement Names Taufiq Isa Kogi Patron, Backs Tinubu, Ododo for 2027
The Village Boy Movement has appointed former Ijumu LGA Chairman Hon. Taufiq Isa as its Kogi Patron and pledged grassroots mobilisation for President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.

The Village Boy Movement (VBM) has appointed former Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area and former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kogi State, Hon. Taufiq Isa, as its Kogi State Patron, while declaring its commitment to mobilising grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The appointment, according to the movement, is informed by Isa’s extensive grassroots connections and political influence, which it believes will strengthen its mobilisation efforts across Kogi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The National Coordinator of the movement, Babalola Oluwafemi, and its Secretary, Ayodele Gbologe, said the VBM was established to mobilise grassroots voters across the country in support of President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The movement is also expected to formally inaugurate its Kogi State chapter soon as part of efforts to deepen its grassroots structure and expand its activities across the state.
The VBM said its choice of Taufiq Isa as Kogi Patron reflects confidence in his understanding of grassroots politics and his ability to connect with communities across the state.
Isa, who previously served as Ijumu Local Government Chairman and later headed ALGON in Kogi State, is expected to play a key role in coordinating the movement’s grassroots mobilisation activities in the state.
The movement said it was banking on his grassroots strength and political influence to contribute to its objective of delivering substantial support for President Tinubu in Kogi State.
In his response, Isa assured the leadership and members of the Village Boy Movement that he would support efforts aimed at mobilising voters for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also pledged his commitment to working towards the re-election of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, expressing confidence that the movement would mobilise effectively at the grassroots to achieve its political objectives.
The development comes as political groups and grassroots mobilisation structures continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with the VBM seeking to establish its presence across Nigeria and particularly strengthen its organisational structure in Kogi State.
