Nigeria @66: NYC Kogi Chairman Urges Youths to Renew Faith in Nation, Embrace Unity and Responsibility

The Chairman of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Kogi State Chapter, Comr. Oloruntoba Moses Juwon, has called on Nigerians, particularly young people, to use the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary to reflect on Nigeria’s journey, strengthen national unity and renew their commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous country.
In a goodwill message marking the anniversary, Juwon described Nigeria’s independence as a significant milestone that should continually remind citizens of the sacrifices of the nation’s founding generation and the responsibilities that come with freedom.
He urged Nigerian youths to remain positive about the future of the country and channel their energy, creativity and talents towards productive ventures that can contribute to national development.
According to him, the challenges confronting the country should not diminish the determination of citizens to build a better Nigeria, stressing that sustainable development requires the collective commitment of government, communities and citizens.
The NYC Kogi Chairman also called for greater opportunities for young people in education, employment, entrepreneurship, skills development and leadership, noting that meaningful youth participation remains essential to the country’s progress.
He also appreciated the youthful and useful governance of the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Usman Ahmed Ododo, urging Kogi Youths to remain steadfast in their support for the Governor’s administration.
He encouraged youths to embrace peaceful coexistence, respect democratic values and resist actions capable of deepening division or undermining the unity of the country.
Juwon further called on Nigerians to look beyond ethnic, religious and political differences and place the national interest above personal and sectional considerations.
“As we celebrate 66 years of independence, we must remember that the Nigeria we desire will not be built by government alone. Every citizen has a role to play. As young Nigerians, we must take responsibility for our future, uphold the values of unity and patriotism, and contribute positively to our communities and our nation,” he said.
He expressed optimism that with collective determination, responsible leadership, active citizenship and greater investment in the potential of young Nigerians, the country can overcome its challenges and realise its enormous potential.
The NYC Kogi State Chairman congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the occasion, wishing the nation continued peace, unity and progress.
Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria.
