ADC Chieftain Yomite Resigns Party Membership in Kogi

Chief Dr. Charles Yomi Olorunshola, popularly known as Yomite, has resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ward 03, Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Chief Dr. Charles Yomi Olorunshola, popularly known as Yomite, has formally resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

In a resignation letter dated May 26, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of the ADC in Ward 03, Mopamuro Local Government Area, Olorunshola said his decision followed extensive consultations with his political associates, supporters, and constituents.

The former party member noted that the move was taken in line with his continued commitment to public service and community development.

“I am writing to formally tender my resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effective immediately,” the letter stated.

Olorunshola explained that his resignation was made in good faith and without resentment toward the party or its members.

He expressed appreciation for the relationships and experiences built during his time in the ADC, emphasizing that he still holds members of the party in high regard.

“I wish to emphasize that this decision comes in good faith and without any bitterness. The respect I hold for the members of this party remains intact, and I shall carry forward the relationships built over the years with utmost appreciation,” he stated.

The letter also requested that his name be removed from the party’s membership register and all official records at the ward, local government, state, and national levels.

He further asked that all documents and materials reflecting his membership of the party be updated accordingly.

The resignation is expected to generate political discussions within Mopamuro and the wider Kogi political landscape as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum across the state.
