Kogi Finance Commissioner Congratulates Omodaras on Landmark Healthcare Investment

The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, has congratulated the founders of the South Ward Hospital and Diagnostic Centre, Commander Jerry Omodara and Mrs. Bosede Jumoke Omodara, on the successful establishment and inauguration of the facility in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area.

In a statement following the commissioning of the hospital by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Commissioner described the project as a remarkable milestone in Kogi State’s healthcare development and a testament to the founders’ vision and commitment to community service.

Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris commended the Omodaras for their investment in modern healthcare infrastructure, noting that the establishment of the South Ward Hospital and Diagnostic Centre would significantly enhance access to quality medical services, particularly in Kogi West and surrounding regions.

He emphasized that the facility, equipped with advanced diagnostic tools such as MRI, CT scan, digital X-ray, and laboratory services, would play a critical role in early disease detection, improved treatment outcomes, and reduction in medical referrals outside the state.

The Commissioner further noted that private sector-driven initiatives like the hospital are essential in complementing government efforts to strengthen the healthcare system and meet the growing needs of the population.

According to him, the project reflects growing investor confidence in the state and aligns with the administration’s broader agenda of fostering development through strategic partnerships.

He also applauded the resilience and dedication of Mrs. Omodara, whose vision since 2018 led to the successful completion of the project despite initial challenges.

Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris expressed confidence that the hospital would not only serve the immediate community but also emerge as a major referral centre for the Okun region and neighboring states.

He wished Commander and Mrs. Omodara continued success in their efforts, while encouraging other private investors to emulate their example in contributing to the socio-economic development of Kogi State.

The inauguration ceremony attracted government officials, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders in the health sector, who described the facility as a significant boost to healthcare delivery in the state.
