Working People United (WoPU) backs President Tinubu’s reforms, mobilises nationwide support for his 2027 re-election bid, and calls for improved workers’ welfare.
Members of Working People United (WoPU) have called on Nigerians to support the administration of President , rating his performance highly and urging sustained backing for his reform agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group made the call during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Staff to the President, , in Abuja, where it outlined its mission to mobilise grassroots support for continuity and good governance.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Coordinator General, Comrade (Prince) Williams Eniredonana Akporeha, said WoPU was established in March 2026 as a nationwide movement aimed at uniting workers, artisans, farmers, and professionals in support of government policies while advocating improved welfare for citizens.
He explained that the organisation seeks to bridge the gap between government reforms and the everyday realities of Nigerians by encouraging public support for economic policies, while also calling for targeted relief measures to cushion the impact of rising fuel prices and cost of living.
According to Akporeha, WoPU has positioned itself as a strong grassroots platform to galvanize support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, citing what he described as bold and transformative decisions taken by the administration since assuming office in May 2023.

He listed key reforms to include the removal of fuel subsidies, unification of the foreign exchange market, tax reforms, promotion of compressed natural gas (CNG) transportation, revival of local refineries, and renewed focus on infrastructure such as rail transport.
The group also highlighted government efforts in education, including the revival of scholarship schemes and improved engagement with academic unions, as well as policy directions aimed at granting greater autonomy to local governments and states in power generation.
On security, WoPU noted the establishment of forest guards, increased collaboration with international partners, and ongoing efforts to strengthen internal security mechanisms across the country.
While acknowledging initial economic challenges, including inflation and rising living costs, the group maintained that recent indicators suggest improvements in exchange rate stability, fiscal discipline, and investor confidence.
Akporeha further commended the administration’s foreign policy engagements, noting increased international cooperation and recognition of Nigeria’s leadership.
He said the group’s assessment of the administration informed its decision to call on Nigerians to support continuity, warning that abandoning ongoing reforms could undermine long-term national growth.
In response, described the visit as timely and welcomed the formation of WoPU, pledging collaboration with the group in advancing policies that benefit Nigerians.
He encouraged members to sustain their mobilisation efforts, noting that citizen participation remains critical to the success of government programmes.
