Rainstorm Wreaks Havoc in Ejuku as Gov. Ododo’s Aide Appeals for Urgent Relief for Affected Residents

A devastating rainstorm has destroyed several houses and displaced residents in Ejuku, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State prompting a call for urgent assistance from Sule Aminat Temitope.

Temitope, popularly known as TGrace, who serves as Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sensitization to Usman Ahmed Ododo, appealed to government authorities, community stakeholders, and well-meaning Nigerians to support victims affected by the disaster.

Speaking on the development, the governor’s aide described the incident as a tragic event that has left several families homeless after heavy rainfall and strong winds reportedly tore through parts of the community, damaging rooftops and destroying residential buildings.

According to her, the affected residents are currently facing severe hardship, with many struggling to secure temporary shelter and basic necessities following the destruction of their homes.

Temitope therefore called on the Kogi State Government, sons and daughters of Ejuku both at home and in the diaspora, as well as philanthropists and humanitarian organisations, to urgently intervene and provide relief materials and financial assistance to the victims.

She emphasised that timely intervention would help cushion the suffering of affected households and enable families to rebuild their homes and restore normal life in the community.

The governor’s aide also urged relevant emergency and humanitarian agencies to assess the extent of the damage and coordinate relief efforts for the affected residents.

Residents of the community are said to be counting their losses while hoping for swift intervention from authorities and public-spirited individuals to mitigate the impact of the disaster.
