2027: WoPU for Tinubu/Shettima Unveils Podcast Studio for Grassroots Mobilisation

Working People United (WoPU) has declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027, unveiling a podcast studio designed to promote policy education, public engagement and grassroots mobilisation.
The organisation commissioned the Working People United Podcast Studio at its secretariat on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at a ceremony attended by labour leaders, trade association representatives, professionals, political stakeholders and members of the media.
Speaking at the event, WoPU National Coordinator-General, Comrade Prince Akporeha Williams Enredonana, described the studio as a platform for public discourse and a means of strengthening engagement between government and citizens.
He said the initiative was intended to go beyond content production by providing an avenue for discussing national issues, explaining government policies and amplifying the concerns of Nigerian workers.
WoPU Positions Podcast Studio as Platform for Policy Education
Enredonana expressed concern over the spread of misinformation and the influence of public opinion on governance, arguing that organisations representing working people had a responsibility to provide credible information.
He said Nigerians needed to understand the policies and decisions shaping their livelihoods, adding that workers should have opportunities to participate in conversations about public administration and national development.
According to him, the podcast would feature discussions with policymakers, government officials, labour leaders, union representatives, professionals, entrepreneurs, civil society organisations and ordinary Nigerians.
Planned areas of discussion include workers’ welfare, industrial relations, minimum wage implementation, job creation, economic reforms, taxation, education, healthcare and social protection.
Enredonana said the platform would encourage informed discussions of government policies, their implementation, the challenges they present and their implications for working Nigerians.
Group Pledges Support for Tinubu, Shettima in 2027
In a major political declaration at the commissioning, the WoPU coordinator-general reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and announced its support for the president and Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Working People United believes in and is highly committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and we are committed to supporting his re-election alongside the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, in 2027,” Enredonana said.
He maintained that public engagement should be based on facts, evidence and honest assessments rather than misinformation or deliberate misrepresentation of government policies.
The coordinator-general said WoPU intended to use its podcast to explain the administration’s policy direction, discuss reported progress, examine outstanding challenges and communicate opportunities available to working Nigerians.
He added that political support should be founded on understanding and conviction rather than slogans and rallies alone.
WoPU Targets Grassroots Reach Across Nigeria, Diaspora
Enredonana said the organisation planned to use accessible communication to reach workers and communities across Nigeria, including the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory and the country’s 774 local government areas, as well as Nigerians in the diaspora.
He called on government officials, labour leaders, political stakeholders, development experts and media organisations to partner with WoPU in advancing public enlightenment and policy engagement.
He also urged members of the organisation to take responsibility for ensuring that the studio becomes a productive platform for communicating with workers and discussing issues affecting their welfare.
Enredonana expressed hope that the initiative would promote constructive public conversations, improve understanding of government policies and give greater attention to the aspirations of working Nigerians.

The ceremony attracted several dignitaries, including Comrade Issa Aremu, Director-General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) and Deputy Director of the PCC Directorate of Labour Union Relations, who chaired the occasion.
