Dr. Emmanuel Obaro, for providing relief support to victims affected by the recent rainstorm that caused widespread destruction in the area.

The appreciation was conveyed by the newly elected executives of the community, who described the lawmaker’s intervention as timely and impactful in helping families recover from the devastating incident.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Hon. Usman Musa Babatunde disclosed that Obaro donated ₦1,000,000 as initial relief assistance to victims whose homes and properties were destroyed by the rainstorm.

He further noted that the gesture helped ease the immediate burden faced by affected residents and demonstrated the lawmaker’s responsiveness to the plight of his constituents.

In his address, Obaro assured residents of additional relief items to further support families impacted by the disaster. He also stated that he would move a strong-worded motion on the floor of the Kogi State House of Assembly to call for additional government intervention in the affected communities. Obaro expressed confidence that the people-loving Governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo, would ensure the state government responds swiftly to complement ongoing relief efforts.

Obaro also commended the people of Ejuku for their perseverance and trust in the APC government, both at the local government and Kogi State levels, despite the challenges posed by the recent rainstorm. He described their resilience as a source of inspiration and expressed empathy for those who suffered losses.

“I understand the hardship this rainstorm has caused, and I want every affected family to know that you are not alone. We will continue to work together to ensure that relief reaches all who need it, and that Ejuku and the wider Yagba East recover fully from this disaster,” Obaro said.

Beyond the rainstorm relief, the Ejuku community highlighted several other impactful initiatives facilitated by the lawmaker. These include the sponsorship of JAMB registration fees for 20 students, aimed at supporting educational advancement among youths in the community.

The community also recalled Obaro’s ₦750,000 donation during the commissioning of the Police Divisional Headquarters, describing it as a boost to security and institutional development within the locality.

Residents further acknowledged a ₦2,000,000 community development project in Ejuku, alongside the disbursement of ₦50,000 each to 30 beneficiaries through the Obaro Foundation, an initiative designed to support small-scale businesses and improve livelihoods.

The community reaffirmed its appreciation to the lawmaker and pledged continued cooperation, expressing confidence that Obaro’s development-oriented initiatives, combined with government support, would further strengthen the welfare of Ejuku and the broader Yagba East constituency.
