The Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), Kogi State Chapter, Mopamuro Branch, has endorsed the Member representing Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, following his sponsorship of the distribution of coded security jackets to commercial motorcycle operators across the constituency.

The endorsement was contained in a letter of appreciation dated July 18, 2026, and signed by the union’s Secretary-General, Comrade Anjorin Emmanuel Taiwo, who described the intervention as a significant contribution to public safety and the welfare of commercial motorcycle operators.

According to the association, Abejide fully funded the procurement of the coded jackets, ensuring that every registered commercial motorcycle operator in Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Local Government Areas received one at no cost.

The union noted that the initiative complements the Kogi State Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security by improving the identification of genuine commercial motorcycle operators and discouraging criminals who disguise themselves as riders to perpetrate unlawful activities.

It explained that the coded jackets would enhance accountability within the transport sector, make it easier for passengers and security agencies to identify legitimate operators, and contribute to a safer operating environment across the federal constituency.

MOUN further commended the federal lawmaker for bearing the full financial responsibility for the project, describing the gesture as a major relief for its members and evidence of his commitment to the well-being of the people he represents.

The association also applauded Abejide’s style of representation, saying his interventions have continued to address critical needs within the constituency while strengthening public confidence in democratic leadership.

Reaffirming its support for the lawmaker, the union pledged its solidarity with Abejide and expressed readiness to continue backing his aspiration to represent Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The motorcycle operators also offered prayers for the lawmaker, asking God to grant him good health, wisdom and strength to sustain his service to the people.
