Kogi West APC Leaders Back Tinubu, Affirm Support for Karimi’s Continued Representation

Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi West Senatorial District have declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, while also reaffirming confidence in the leadership of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi.
The endorsement, which followed a stakeholders’ meeting in the district, was described as a collective decision aimed at strengthening party unity and consolidating the gains of the APC at both the national and senatorial levels.
Addressing party members, the leaders noted that President Tinubu’s policies and reform agenda have laid a foundation for economic recovery and national development, stressing that continuity is necessary to sustain the progress recorded so far.
They further expressed satisfaction with the representation of Kogi West at the National Assembly under Senator Karimi, pointing to his constituency interventions and legislative contributions as key indicators of effective leadership.
According to the stakeholders, the decision to endorse both Tinubu and Karimi was informed by their perceived commitment to governance, party loyalty, and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
The meeting also emphasised the need for unity within the party, urging members across the seven local government areas of Kogi West to close ranks and work together ahead of future political contests.
Speakers at the gathering maintained that internal cohesion remains critical to the APC’s electoral success, warning against actions capable of creating division within the party structure.
They reiterated that the endorsement reflects the collective will of party faithful in the district and not the position of any individual or group acting in isolation.
Political observers say the development underscores ongoing realignments and strategic positioning within Kogi West as political activities gradually build toward the 2027 elections.
The stakeholders, however, called on party members and supporters to remain focused on strengthening grassroots mobilisation and sustaining the party’s dominance in the district.
They also urged leaders at all levels to prioritise inclusive governance and continued engagement with constituents as part of efforts to maintain public trust and confidence.
