Karimi Group Disowns Alleged Endorsement in Kogi West, Warns Against Fake Political Claims
The Sunday Steven Karimi Progressive Movement has dismissed a purported endorsement circulating in Kogi West, describing it as false and reaffirming support for Senator Sunday Steven Karimi ahead of the 2027 elections.

LOKOJA — The Sunday Steven Karimi Progressive Movement has distanced itself from an alleged political endorsement currently circulating across parts of Kogi West Senatorial District, describing the claim as false and unauthorized.
In a statement issued by the Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Abdulganiyu Abdullahi, the group said none of its stakeholders approved or participated in the purported endorsement, urging members of the public to disregard the reports.
According to the statement, the movement remains fully committed to the political leadership of Distinguished Senator Sunday Steven Karimi and has not shifted its support to any other aspirant within the senatorial district.
Abdullahi stated that attempts to circulate what he described as misleading endorsements were aimed at creating confusion among supporters and distracting from the existing political structure within Kogi West.
“The movement did not authorize any endorsement outside Senator Sunday Steven Karimi. Our position remains unchanged, and the public should ignore claims suggesting otherwise,” the statement noted.
The group praised Senator Karimi’s representation at the National Assembly, citing his contributions in the areas of infrastructure, education, empowerment, and constituency development across Kogi West.
It further described the senator as a tested and experienced political figure whose performance and grassroots support continue to strengthen his standing within the district.
The movement also urged residents and political supporters to remain vigilant against misinformation and political propaganda capable of creating unnecessary tension ahead of future political activities in the state.
Abdullahi reaffirmed the group’s commitment to mobilising support for Senator Karimi, insisting that the people of Kogi West remain united behind his leadership and political direction.
