As political consultations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, an aspirant for the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Olugbemi Femi, has continued his stakeholder engagements with a visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.

During the meeting, the aspirant formally presented his Letter of Intent to the respected party leaders, declaring his ambition to contest for the Kabba/Bunu State Constituency seat in the state assembly under the platform of the .

Speaking during the visit, Olugbemi explained that the consultation was part of his deliberate effort to engage with critical stakeholders within the party, particularly elders who have contributed immensely to building and sustaining the party structure at the grassroots level.

According to him, the elders remain custodians of experience and wisdom within the party, and their guidance and support are vital for any meaningful political journey.

He therefore sought their fatherly counsel, prayers and support as he prepares for the task of representing the people of Kabba/Bunu in the .

The aspirant also reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership, effective representation and grassroots development, noting that his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to contribute to the progress of Kabba/Bunu and Kogi State.

Responding on behalf of the elders, the Chairman of the forum, , commended the aspirant for showing respect to the party structure through consultation with the elders.

He noted that many aspirants often overlook the elders’ forum despite the wealth of political experience it represents, describing Olugbemi’s approach as commendable.

The elders advised him to remain focused, promote unity within the party and continue consultations with stakeholders across the constituency.

They also offered prayers for wisdom, strength and success in his political journey while emphasising the importance of peace, unity and collective progress within the party.

Hon. Olugbemi, in his closing remarks, appreciated the elders for their warm reception and valuable advice, assuring them of his continued loyalty to the party and dedication to the development of Kabba/Bunu, Kogi State and the country at large.
