The member representing Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, has extended warm greetings to Muslims across his constituency and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
In a goodwill message marking the end of the Ramadan fast, Abejide commended the Muslim Ummah for their devotion to fasting, prayers, and acts of charity throughout the holy month, describing the exercise as a demonstration of faith, discipline, sacrifice, and compassion.
He urged Muslims to sustain the virtues of peace, tolerance, and spiritual renewal beyond Ramadan, noting that such values are critical to building a united and progressive society.
The lawmaker emphasized that Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity and called on citizens to remain committed to peaceful coexistence and the collective good of the nation.
Abejide also advised religious leaders to continue promoting messages of love, unity, and shared prosperity, cautioning against teachings that could incite division or encourage extremism.
He called on adherents of all faiths to live harmoniously and support efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability, which he described as essential for sustainable development.
According to him, prayers offered during the Ramadan period remain vital for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of Yagba Federal Constituency, Kogi State, and Nigeria as a whole.
The lawmaker further urged citizens to collaborate with government at all levels in fostering orderliness and creating an enabling environment for growth and development.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the sacrifices and supplications of the faithful, grant their requests, and preserve them to witness many more celebrations in good health and peace.
