Chief Yomite Congratulates Leke Abejide on ₦710m Community Empowerment, APC Primary Victory
Chief Yomi Charles Olorunshola has congratulated Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide on the successful ₦710 million community empowerment programme across Yagbaland and his landslide victory in the APC primary election.
A prominent political and business ally of the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Yomi Charles Olorunshola, also known as Yomite has congratulated Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide on the successful completion of the ₦710 million grassroots empowerment initiative across Yagbaland and his overwhelming victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
Chief Olorunshola described the dual achievements as clear evidence of the confidence and trust the people of Yagba Federal Constituency have continued to place in the leadership and representation of Abejide.
The empowerment programme, which saw ₦10 million disbursed to each of the 71 independent communities across Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro local government areas, has been widely commended as one of the largest direct grassroots interventions ever witnessed in the constituency.
Reacting to the development, Olorunshola praised Abejide for sustaining what he described as purposeful and people-oriented leadership capable of transforming rural communities and improving the living conditions of ordinary citizens.
According to him, the direct intervention to communities has further strengthened the bond between the lawmaker and the people, noting that the programme has already restored confidence in grassroots governance and development.
“This is not ordinary politics. What Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide has done for the people of Yagbaland is unprecedented. Distributing ₦10 million to each of the 71 independent communities clearly demonstrates his deep commitment to grassroots development and the welfare of the people,” he said.
Olorunshola also congratulated the federal lawmaker on his landslide victory in the APC House of Representatives primary election, where Abejide secured victory across all 34 wards in Yagba Federal Constituency.
He described the outcome of the primary election as a resounding endorsement of Abejide’s performance, accessibility and consistent engagement with the grassroots.
“The people have spoken loudly and clearly through the ballot. The overwhelming support recorded across the 34 wards is a reflection of the love and acceptance Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide enjoys among party members and the people of Yagba Federal Constituency,” he stated.
The political ally further called on residents of Mopamuro and the entire Yagba Federal Constituency to remain united and continue supporting the leadership of Abejide, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He urged political stakeholders, community leaders and residents to place collective interest above personal sentiments and work together for the continued development of the constituency and Kogi State at large.
According to him, the current leadership at both the state and federal levels deserves support due to ongoing efforts aimed at improving infrastructure, strengthening security and promoting economic growth.
Chief Olorunshola appealed to those yet to align with the leadership direction of the APC in Yagbaland to believe in the vision and leadership capacity of Abejide, Governor Ododo and President Tinubu.
“We must continue to support leaders who have shown commitment to development and the progress of the people. This is the time for unity, loyalty and collective support for Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he added.
He expressed optimism that greater development projects and empowerment initiatives would continue to reach communities across Yagbaland under the current political leadership.
