Awoniyi Mobilises Mopamuro for APC Sweep, Urges Support for Ademola Bello, Karimi and Leke Abejide

Former Kogi State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, has called on APC stakeholders and voters in Mopamuro Local Government Area to support the party’s candidates across all levels of elections, urging unity and calm over political interests ahead of the forthcoming council polls and the 2027 general elections.

Awoniyi described the local government election as the immediate priority, urging party members to work towards the victory of Hon. Ademola Bello, the APC chairmanship candidate, while appreciating the impressive turnout at the party’s grand finale campaign held on Thursday.

On the Kogi West senatorial seat, Awoniyi noted that the position had historically rotated among the federal constituencies in the district, arguing that Yagba had been shortchanged for a long time and should not lose the opportunity to complete a second tenure. He therefore urged stakeholders to remain calm and work towards the re-election of Senator Sunday Karimi.

Addressing the agitation for Mopamuro to produce the next member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Awoniyi appealed for restraint and called on the people to support the APC candidate, Rt. Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide, in view of the prevailing political circumstances. He also urged Mopamuro stakeholders to pursue their aspirations through dialogue and seek a concession where possible.

The meeting was attended by APC stakeholders, including Hon. Ademola Bello, Hon. Samuel Olawunmi and other party leaders, who discussed the need for unity and collective efforts to strengthen the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections.
