Aro Bamidele Assures Kogi West of Improved Security, Urges Unity Against Banditry as Government Intensifies Operations

APC Kogi West Senatorial hopeful, Hon. Aro Samuel Bamidele, has assured residents that attacks on communities will significantly reduce as security operations intensify. He praised Governor Ahmed Ododo’s anti-banditry efforts and called for unity against insecurity.

A expected candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Aro Samuel Bamidele, has expressed confidence that the wave of insecurity affecting parts of Kogi West will soon witness a significant decline as coordinated security operations intensify across the region.

Speaking during an interaction with Kogi West indigenes and journalists in Abuja, Aro said recent interventions by both the Federal Government and the Kogi State Government have strengthened ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating within the district.

The APC chieftain noted that the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has demonstrated a firm commitment to confronting banditry and other security threats head-on, adding that recent developments indicate that security agencies are receiving the support required to restore lasting peace to affected communities.

According to him, the state government has continued to invest heavily in security infrastructure and operational assets aimed at improving the effectiveness of security agencies across Kogi State.

He disclosed that additional security equipment, including armoured operational vehicles, has been deployed to support ongoing operations, while strategic collaboration with federal security authorities is yielding positive results.

Aro also acknowledged the contributions of local security outfits, vigilante groups and the Lion Squad, describing their role as critical in complementing the efforts of conventional security agencies in protecting lives and property.

While expressing optimism about the security outlook for Kogi West, the senatorial hopeful warned against turning insecurity into a subject of political rivalry, insisting that the menace affects all citizens irrespective of political affiliation, religion or social status.

He urged political leaders, stakeholders and residents across the district to embrace a united front against criminal elements, stressing that the fight against banditry requires collective action rather than partisan divisions.

According to him, terrorists and bandits do not discriminate based on political leanings, making it imperative for communities to work together in defence of their people, resources and future.

Aro emphasized that security should remain a common cause for all citizens, regardless of party differences, adding that meaningful progress can only be achieved when political actors place public safety above partisan interests.

He called on residents of Kogi West to support ongoing security operations through vigilance, cooperation with security agencies and the provision of credible intelligence capable of aiding the fight against criminality.

The APC senatorial hopeful further reiterated his readiness to collaborate with the Kogi State Government and relevant security institutions to ensure that peace and stability are restored across communities that have recently come under attack.

His remarks come amid renewed efforts by security agencies and government authorities to contain criminal activities in parts of Kogi West, particularly communities that have experienced security challenges in recent weeks.

Political observers say Aro’s position reflects growing calls among stakeholders for greater unity and coordinated action in addressing insecurity, which remains one of the most pressing concerns confronting residents across the senatorial district.

As security operations continue, many residents are hopeful that the combination of federal support, state government interventions and community-based security initiatives will deliver the lasting peace needed for development and economic growth across Kogi West.
