Prince Olusoji made the donation during the 2026 Ogidi Day Festival, an annual cultural gathering that attracted indigenes, traditional leaders, stakeholders and guests from within and outside the community.

The donation is earmarked for the development of the proposed Ogidi Ela Community Centre, a facility expected to accommodate about 2,500 people and serve as a hub for community engagements, social activities and developmental initiatives.

In another major intervention, the Asiwaju of Ayere commissioned a solar-powered borehole he facilitated for the community, a project aimed at improving access to potable water and enhancing the welfare of residents.

Addressing participants at the festival, Prince Olusoji said community development remains a collective responsibility, stressing that individuals with the capacity to contribute should complement government efforts in improving the lives of the people.

He noted that his interventions in Ogidi were driven by a desire to support sustainable development and provide critical infrastructure capable of positively impacting the community for generations.

The respected traditional title holder, who is also the Bashorun Akinjagula of Ogidi Kingdom, used the occasion to commend the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing their administrations as focused on delivering development and improving the wellbeing of citizens.

He urged residents to continue supporting both leaders, saying sustained cooperation between government and the people remains essential for achieving greater progress and stability.

According to him, the successes being recorded at both the federal and state levels require collective backing from citizens to ensure continuity and expansion of developmental initiatives.

The donation and commissioning of the borehole drew widespread commendation from members of the community, who described the gestures as timely and impactful.

Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Student Matters, Comrade Oladele John Nihi, praised Prince Olusoji’s longstanding record of philanthropy, noting that his contributions have touched several communities across Kogi State and beyond.

He described the donor as a humanitarian whose interventions continue to improve lives and support community growth.

Responding on behalf of the community, Otunba Shuaib Ipinmisho expressed appreciation for the financial contribution and infrastructure projects, describing Prince Olusoji as a dependable partner in the development of Ogidi Kingdom.
