WAEC 2026: Kogi Govt Trains SS3 Students in CBT at Idah Centres to Boost Digital Exam Readiness
SS3 students from key schools in Idah undergo hands-on CBT training as Kogi State Government strengthens preparation for WAEC with statewide digital exam readiness initiative.

The Kogi State Government has intensified its preparation for the forthcoming West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examinations, as Senior Secondary School (SS3) students in Idah participated in hands-on Computer-Based Test (CBT) training sessions aimed at improving digital examination readiness.
The exercise, held at the Seagate CBT Centre in Idah, brought together students from Dickson Memorial College, Idah Secondary Commercial College, and Nana College of Health Sciences, who were engaged in practical sessions designed to familiarize them with the realities of computer-based examinations.
During the training, technical officials provided step-by-step guidance, exposing the students to the CBT environment, including navigation tools, system operations, and strategies for effectively tackling computer-based questions.
The session formed part of the state government’s broader initiative to equip candidates with the necessary digital skills required to excel in modern examination systems, as the global shift from paper-based to technology-driven assessments continues.
Participants were given the opportunity to interact directly with the computer systems, ask questions, and gain practical experience, a move stakeholders say is crucial in building students’ confidence ahead of their final examinations.
Education stakeholders have commended the initiative, noting that early exposure to CBT platforms helps to reduce examination anxiety while improving students’ overall performance.
The ongoing programme underscores the Kogi State Government’s commitment to ensuring that students are not disadvantaged in the transition to digital examination formats, particularly as WAEC and other examination bodies continue to adopt technology-based testing methods.
Officials say the training will continue across various centres in the state, as part of a coordinated effort to prepare students adequately for the demands of contemporary academic assessments.
