Rep Leke Abejide Launches Yagba East Medical Outreach, Releases ₦710 Million for Community Projects
House of Representatives member Leke Abejide has launched a medical outreach programme in Yagba East and facilitated ₦710 million for grassroots development projects across 71 communities.

ALU, KOGI STATE — Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Elder Leke Abejide, has officially flagged off a large-scale medical outreach programme in Alu, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The healthcare initiative, launched on Sunday, forms part of activities lined up to commemorate the federal lawmaker’s birthday and is expected to extend across the 10 wards of Yagba East during the week-long programme.
Abejide, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Customs and Excise and holds the traditional title of Asiwaju of Yagbaland, said the outreach was designed to improve access to healthcare services at the grassroots.
The programme offers residents free medical consultations, medications, health counselling, and other healthcare support services.
Hundreds of residents from various communities reportedly benefited from the first phase of the exercise.
The event also coincided with the release of ₦710 million reportedly facilitated for 71 communities across Yagba Federal Constituency to support grassroots development projects.
The week-long programme is being coordinated by the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yagba East Local Government Area, Hon. Abdurazaq Olusegun Abdulkadir, and sponsored by the Executive Chairman of Yagba East LGA, Hon. Dare Joshua Venza.
Organisers said the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to complement the developmental agenda of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Abejide commended Hon. Dare Joshua Venza for supporting people-focused programmes and promoting community-based development initiatives in the local government area.
He also praised the APC chairman in Yagba East, Hon. Abdulkadir, and members of the organizing committee for mobilizing support towards improving the welfare of residents.
The federal lawmaker encouraged political office holders and stakeholders to continue supporting humanitarian programmes aimed at addressing the needs of people at the grassroots.
Abejide further described the administration of the Yagba East council chairman as promising and urged him to sustain developmental efforts across the area.
The event attracted political leaders, healthcare professionals, party supporters, youth groups, community stakeholders, and residents from different parts of Yagba East Local Government Area.
