Ekinrin Adde, Kogi State.
A major show of grassroots mobilisation and community support unfolded in Ekinrin Adde as Dr. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko, founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Ogidi-Omo Movement, empowered members of the organisation with food items and financial assistance.
The strategic meeting, held with stakeholders and loyal members of the movement in Ekinrin Adde Ward, highlighted renewed commitment to community development and collective progress across Kogi State.
In a significant gesture of support, Dr. Olumoko distributed 25 bags of 50kg rice to members of the movement and made a cash donation of ₦1 million to support ongoing grassroots activities.
Beyond the direct support to members, the intervention extended to key community structures. Ward executives received three bags of rice, while traditional rulers and chiefs were presented with one bag each. Spiritual leaders were also included, with one bag of rice allocated to each of the six pastoral teams present. In total, 60 bags of rice were distributed during the exercise.
Addressing participants, Dr. Olumoko reaffirmed the founding ideals of the Ogidi-Omo Movement, which was established in 2005 to promote unity and drive political, economic, social, and cultural advancement among communities.
He stressed that the organisation remains committed to practical empowerment initiatives and sustained engagement at the grassroots, noting that meaningful development must be driven from the community level.
Over the years, the movement has carved a niche for itself through a range of impactful programmes, including voter mobilisation, political advocacy, educational interventions, healthcare outreach, and economic empowerment initiatives that have touched lives across the state.
Members of the community who spoke at the gathering expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and reflective of responsive leadership, particularly in the face of prevailing economic challenges.
The meeting concluded with renewed pledges of unity among members and a shared resolve to deepen the reach and impact of the Ogidi-Omo Movement across Kogi State.
