Family Announces Week-Long Activities for 10th Remembrance of Chief Adefunke Fadeni

Foundation launch, outreach programmes, and novelty match to mark legacy of ‘L’aso B’ese’ in Ondo
The family of the late Chief Adefunke Fadeni, popularly known as L’aso B’ese, has unveiled a lineup of activities to commemorate her 10th anniversary remembrance, scheduled to hold from April 13 to April 17, 2026, in Ondo Town, Ondo State.
According to a statement made available to journalists, the week-long programme will begin on Monday, April 13, with the official launch of the Funke Fadeni Foundation. The event is slated for 11:00 a.m. at the Civic Centre, Sabo, Ondo.
Activities will continue on Tuesday, April 14, with an Open House for widows and indigent women at No. 17 Ebenezerie Street, Aiyeyemi, Ondo, starting at 10:00 a.m. The initiative is aimed at supporting vulnerable members of the community in line with the late matriarch’s legacy of compassion and generosity.
On Wednesday, April 15, a graduation ceremony will be held at the Civic Centre, Sabo, while a novelty football match final in honour of the deceased is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, at the Ondo Stadium Complex by 11:00 a.m.
The remembrance programme will conclude on Friday, April 17, with a reception for dignitaries at the Civic Centre, Sabo, beginning at 12:00 noon.
Late Chief Adefunke Fadeni was widely respected for her commitment to humanitarian service, strong faith, and dedication to community development. Fondly remembered as L’aso B’ese, she was known for her generosity, diligence, and unwavering support for those in need.
A decade after her passing, family members noted that her legacy continues to inspire acts of kindness and service, with the remembrance activities designed to reflect the values she lived for.
