Ododo Visits Koton-Karfe, Assures More Development, Rallies Support for Tinubu Ahead 2027

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo inspects projects in Koton-Karfe, assures residents of more development, and rallies support for President Bola Tinubu as stakeholders pledge backing for 2027.

KOTON-KARFE, KOGI LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Sunday visited Koton-Karfe in Kogi Local Government Area, where he reassured residents of his administration’s commitment to sustained development while mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The visit, which featured inspection of ongoing projects and a thank-you engagement with community stakeholders, attracted top government officials, political leaders, and traditional rulers, reflecting growing alignment among key actors in the state.

Addressing the people, Governor Ododo said his administration remains focused on delivering impactful infrastructure across all 21 local government areas of the state. He assured that all ongoing projects in Kogi Local Government would be completed according to specifications, stressing that governance must translate into visible and measurable improvements in the lives of citizens.

He noted that his presence in Koton-Karfe was not only to assess progress on projects but also to appreciate the people for their continued support and to strengthen ties with traditional institutions, which he described as critical partners in governance and community stability.

The Governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security, commending residents for their cooperation with security agencies, particularly along the Lokoja–Koton-Karfe–Abuja corridor. He assured that efforts would be intensified to protect lives and property across the state.

On national politics, Governor Ododo called on the people to remain steadfast in their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that continuity at the federal level is essential for consolidating ongoing reforms and infrastructure development.

He commended the President’s economic policies, describing them as bold and necessary steps toward long-term national growth, despite temporary challenges. According to him, projects such as the ongoing reconstruction of the Lokoja–Abuja road are clear indicators of the federal government’s commitment to improving connectivity and boosting economic activities.

Governor Ododo urged residents to be patient, stating that the benefits of these reforms would ultimately outweigh current difficulties, and emphasized that sustained support for the President would translate into greater dividends of democracy for Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

At the palace, the Ohimege of Koton-Karfe, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, praised the Governor for his developmental strides and consistent engagement with the people. He noted that the administration’s impact in security and infrastructure has been widely felt across the state.

In a significant show of unity, the Kogi Local Government Traditional Council expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for visiting the palace, describing the gesture as a mark of respect for traditional institutions. The council assured that the goodwill extended to the people would be reciprocated with continued support for the administration.

Chairman of Kogi Local Government, Hon. Abdulmalik Musa, who served as Chief Host, thanked the Governor for prioritising the area and maintaining a close relationship with the grassroots.

Several political leaders also commended the Governor’s leadership and his alignment with the policies of President Tinubu.

Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Barr. Tanko Musa, described the synergy between the state and federal governments as a pathway to addressing developmental challenges. Former Senator Ado Shuaibu acknowledged the Governor’s interventions in projects that have positively impacted Kogi Local Government.

APC chieftain, Dr. Yunusa Labaran, described Governor Ododo as a humble and effective leader whose contributions to the area are unprecedented, while the State APC Chairman, Engr. Aliyu Ezu-Momoh, congratulated the people on ongoing progress and assured them of more dividends of democracy.

The Commissioner for Natural Resources and leader of the APC in Kogi Local Government, Hon. Bashiru Mohammed Gegu, thanked the people, the traditional council, and the Governor for their collective commitment to development, reaffirming stakeholders’ unity in advancing the state’s progress.

Also speaking, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, assured that the legislature would continue to collaborate with the executive to sustain development across the state.

Other dignitaries at the event included the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo; Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abdullahi Bello (Dollar); Chairman of Lokoja Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu; and Hon. Abdulraheem Sani Egidi, representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency.

Also in attendance was Aguye Suleiman Danladi, who highlighted his contributions and achievements while expressing appreciation to Governor Ododo and President Tinubu for their continued support.

The visit featured cultural displays and entertainment, with musician Abdul Drap energising the gathering through songs that echoed support for Governor Ododo and President Tinubu.

Across the board, stakeholders called for sustained support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates in forthcoming elections, expressing confidence that the leadership of Governor Ododo and President Tinubu would continue to deliver development, stability, and prosperity.

Governor Ododo also reiterated his commitment to democratic principles, assuring that there would be no imposition of candidates, as the power to choose leaders ultimately rests with the people. He urged aspirants to engage the grassroots and earn the trust of the electorate.
