Kogi NYCN Congratulates Juwon-Led NYC Leadership, Says Revival Welcome Development
LOKOJA — The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State Chapter, under the chairmanship of Amb. Usman Ogohi Samuel, has congratulated the newly inaugurated leadership of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Kogi State Chapter, describing the revival of the organisation as a welcome development for youth representation and development in the state.
The NYCN congratulated Comr. Oloruntoba Moses Juwon and members of his newly constituted State Executive Council following their inauguration and assumption of office.
The Council said the emergence of the new NYC leadership presents another opportunity to strengthen youth advocacy, empowerment, leadership development and constructive engagement on issues affecting young people across Kogi State.
The NYCN particularly congratulated the Comrade Juwon-led administration for its stated commitment to Empowerment, Employment, Education, Entrepreneurship, and Political and Leadership Participation, describing the five-point agenda as areas requiring collective attention and sustained action.
The Council also welcomed the proposed campaign against drug abuse among youths, noting that concerted efforts by youth organisations, government agencies, community leaders and other stakeholders would be important in addressing the growing challenges confronting young people.
According to the NYCN, the revival of the NYC should be viewed as an opportunity for broader collaboration rather than rivalry among youth organisations, with all legitimate youth platforms expected to contribute positively to the development and welfare of young people in the state.
The Council expressed its readiness to work in partnership with the new NYC leadership in areas of common interest, particularly youth empowerment, education, employment, entrepreneurship, leadership development, advocacy and the promotion of responsible citizenship.

At the local government level, the NYC inaugurated coordinators across the state, covering Lokoja, Yagba East, Yagba West, Mopamuro, Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu, Ibaji, Ofu, Idah, Igalamela-Odolu, Dekina, Bassa, Olamaboro, Ajaokuta, Kogi/Koton Karfe, Okene, Omala and Ankpa.
