Senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe has officially received INEC Form EC9 as the ADC candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District, expressing gratitude to party leaders and calling for unity, reconciliation and people-focused leadership ahead of the election.

Senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe has formally received the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Form EC9 as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial District, describing the development as a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the forthcoming senatorial election.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Okene, Ogembe expressed gratitude to the leadership of the ADC for the confidence reposed in him, saying the official presentation of the nomination form represents not only his candidacy but also the collective aspirations of the people of Kogi Central for purposeful representation.
He also thanked God for what he described as divine guidance and strength throughout his political journey, noting that the moment marked the beginning of a greater responsibility to serve the people of the district.
The ADC candidate paid glowing tribute to the National Chairman of the party, Senator David Mark, commending his leadership and commitment to strengthening the ADC as a credible political platform capable of providing quality leadership across the country.
He equally acknowledged the contributions of Senator Tunde Ogbeha, whom he credited with promoting peace, unity and cohesion within the party in Kogi State, while also appreciating Engr. Sam Uhoutu for his role in laying a solid foundation for the growth of the ADC in Kogi Central.
Ogembe further commended the Kogi State Chairman of the ADC, Hon. Tom Zekeri, for providing stable leadership and direction for the party’s structure in the state.
He extended appreciation to party elders, leaders, stakeholders and supporters across Kogi Central, saying their encouragement, prayers and unwavering confidence in his candidacy have remained a major source of inspiration.
The former senator also acknowledged the other aspirants who participated in the party’s nomination process, stressing that political contests should strengthen, rather than divide, the party.
According to him, although individuals may pursue different political ambitions, they remain united by a common desire to advance the development and prosperity of Kogi Central.
Calling for reconciliation and unity, Ogembe urged members of the ADC to close ranks and work together in the interest of the party and the people, emphasizing that the challenges confronting communities across the senatorial district require collective commitment and selfless leadership.
He maintained that his campaign would be anchored on service, accountability and a stronger relationship between elected representatives and the people they serve.
Ogembe also stressed that leadership should not be defined solely by electoral victory but by integrity, humility, character and dedication to public service.
“There are no permanent winners or losers in politics—only a lasting responsibility to the people. The journey continues, and the greater assignment has begun,” he stated.
The presentation of INEC Form EC9 officially confirms Ogembe as the ADC’s standard-bearer for the Kogi Central Senatorial District, as the party intensifies preparations ahead of the forthcoming election.
