Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, is set to deliver the keynote address and receive an award for Academic Excellence, Leadership and Innovation at The Exposure Newspaper’s 14th Annual Lecture and Award Ceremony in Abuja.

The Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, is set to play a prominent role at the 14th Annual Public Lecture and Award Ceremony of The Exposure Newspaper, where he will serve as keynote speaker and also be honoured for his contributions to academic leadership and institutional development.

The event, scheduled to hold on June 23, 2026, at the National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, is expected to bring together distinguished academics, policymakers, public office holders, development experts and other stakeholders for a high-level conversation on governance, democracy and national development.

Organisers disclosed that Professor Usman was selected as keynote speaker in recognition of his extensive contributions to higher education and his leadership role in advancing academic excellence. The Vice-Chancellor is also expected to receive an Award for Academic Excellence, Leadership and Innovation, alongside other notable Nigerians whose contributions have impacted their respective sectors.

The annual lecture, which has grown into one of the notable platforms for policy discourse and public engagement, will focus on the theme: “Capitalizing on Credibility: How Transparent Governance and Electoral Integrity Drive Economic and Educational Prosperity – The Nigerian Example.”

According to the organisers, the theme was carefully chosen to stimulate discussions around accountability, democratic governance, electoral reforms and the role of education in driving sustainable national growth.

The lecture will feature presentations and panel discussions involving respected scholars, governance experts, policymakers and industry leaders who are expected to examine the relationship between transparency, democratic institutions and socio-economic development in Nigeria.

Beyond the intellectual engagement, the event will also witness the induction of selected personalities into the Good Governance Hall of Fame in recognition of their leadership records, public service contributions and commitment to national development.

The management of The Exposure Newspaper noted that recipients of the various honours were selected through an assessment process that considered their achievements, impact and commitment to advancing societal development in their different fields.

The event will also serve as a significant milestone for the media organisation as it plans to unveil a ₦150 million podcast studio project and formally present its newly completed office complex in Abuja. The development, according to the organisation, is aimed at strengthening its media operations and expanding its capacity to deliver quality journalism and public-interest content.

Organisers expressed confidence that the 2026 edition of the annual lecture would provide a valuable platform for robust conversations on governance, democratic accountability and educational advancement, while fostering collaboration among stakeholders committed to Nigeria’s development.

With Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman expected to lead discussions as keynote speaker, attention is already turning to what many observers anticipate will be a thought-provoking engagement on the future of governance, education and institutional credibility in Nigeria.
