Elulu of Mopa Backs Leke Abejide for Higher Office as Foundation Deepens Community Development in Yagba
The Elulu of Mopa, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, has praised Hon. Leke Abejide’s grassroots interventions across Yagba Federal Constituency, saying traditional rulers are praying for him to attain a higher national assignment as his foundation continues community empowerment projects.

The Chairman of the Mopamuro Traditional Council and Elulu of Mopa, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Muyiwa Ibeun, has commended the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, for what he described as consistent grassroots development and people-oriented representation across Yagba land.
The monarch said traditional rulers and residents of Mopamuro Local Government Area are praying for the lawmaker to attain a higher national assignment in recognition of his contributions to community development, empowerment, and infrastructure delivery.
Oba Ibeun made the remarks when Abejide paid a visit to the Mopa Traditional Council during the ongoing disbursement of intervention funds to communities under the Leke Abejide Foundation.
According to the royal father, Abejide’s style of representation has gone beyond conventional politics and has directly impacted the lives of ordinary people across the constituency.
“We are praying for a higher assignment for you because what you are doing for our people speaks for itself,” the monarch said. “You have demonstrated that leadership is about service and improving the lives of the people.”
The traditional ruler noted that despite the political contest witnessed during the last election, the people of Mopamuro had continued to show affection and support for the lawmaker because of his developmental efforts.
He pointed out that the absence of legal disputes after the election reflected the acceptance of Abejide’s victory and the goodwill he enjoys among residents of the area.
Oba Ibeun praised the lawmaker for sustaining intervention programmes across the 71 communities in Yagba Federal Constituency, noting that the projects have touched key sectors including education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and infrastructure.
He urged Abejide not to relent in his efforts, assuring him of the continued prayers and support of the traditional institution and the people of Mopamuro.
Responding, Abejide appreciated the royal father and the people of Mopamuro for their support and encouragement over the years.
The lawmaker explained that the community intervention initiative being implemented through the Leke Abejide Foundation was aimed at taking development directly to the grassroots and ensuring that communities determine projects that address their immediate needs.
He reiterated his commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive development, stressing that every part of Yagba Federal Constituency would continue to benefit from the programmes of the foundation.
Abejide also maintained that his focus remains on improving the living conditions of constituents through sustainable empowerment and infrastructural interventions.
The ongoing disbursement exercise by the foundation has seen several communities across Yagba Federal Constituency receive financial support for local projects and development initiatives.
Community leaders and stakeholders across the constituency have continued to commend the intervention programme, describing it as one of the most extensive grassroots-driven empowerment efforts witnessed in the area in recent years.
