Leke Abejide Praises Tinubu for Appointing Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

Hon. Leke Abejide has applauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, describing the move as well-deserved and beneficial to Nigeria’s diplomatic growth.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise, Hon. Leke Abejide, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Abejide, who represents Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Enikanolaiye’s distinguished career in Nigeria’s foreign service.

In a congratulatory message on Wednesday, the lawmaker noted that Enikanolaiye’s elevation from Special Adviser on Foreign Affairs to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs was a testament to his competence, dedication, and wealth of diplomatic experience.

According to Abejide, the newly appointed minister’s over three decades of service in the nation’s diplomatic corps positions him well to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s foreign relations objectives.

“Ambassador Enikanolaiye has served meritoriously as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held several key diplomatic positions. There is no doubt that he will bring his vast experience to bear in this new role by supporting efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s international relations and economic diplomacy for enhanced trade and investment,” Abejide stated.

The federal lawmaker extended warm congratulations to the diplomat, describing him as an exceptional individual whose appointment would further boost Nigeria’s global engagements.

“As you assume this important responsibility, I pray that Almighty God grants you wisdom, strength, and guidance to succeed. May your service in this office contribute significantly to advancing Nigeria’s interests and strengthening our international partnerships for the benefit of all Nigerians,” he said.

Abejide also expressed confidence that the synergy between Enikanolaiye and the senior Minister of Foreign Affairs would deepen Nigeria’s diplomatic relations and foster stronger economic cooperation with other nations.

He added that the appointment would leave a lasting impact on the country’s diplomatic landscape and further cement Nigeria’s position in international affairs.

The lawmaker further appreciated President Tinubu for what he described as another demonstration of goodwill towards Kogi State, noting that the President has continued to show confidence in the state through strategic appointments.

“President Tinubu has once again demonstrated his love for Kogi State through this appointment. It is also a clear indication that he remains a listening and responsive leader,” Abejide said.

President Tinubu had earlier appointed Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, a move widely welcomed by political leaders and stakeholders in Kogi State.
