Kogi West 2027: Sam Aro Takes Senatorial Campaign Tour Across Okun Communities, Receives Rousing Welcome

The leading aspirant for the Kogi West Senatorial District seat, Sam Aro, has continued his consultations across Okun communities, receiving enthusiastic receptions from supporters and community members during a tour of the district’s three federal constituencies.

Recall that Aro began the tour in Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency on Saturday, 7th of November before proceeding to Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, where he attended Kabba Day. The engagement provided an opportunity for him to interact with residents and traditional and community stakeholders, some of who pledged their support for his aspiration to represent Kogi West in the Senate.

At Kabba Day, the people of Kabba reportedly assured Aro of their commitment to supporting his ambition, expressing confidence in his capacity to represent the district.

The tour subsequently moved to Yagba Federal Constituency, where Aro received a large turnout of supporters across Mopamuro, Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas.

In Mopamuro, he attended Amuro Day, an event celebrating the heritage and cultural identity of the Amuro people. Addressing the gathering, Aro assured the community of his commitment to delivering meaningful democratic dividends if elected, while appealing for their support in the forthcoming senatorial election.

In Yagba East, some residents described Aro as a suitable candidate for the Kogi West senatorial seat, recalling his previous aspiration in the 2014/2015 election cycle. They said their support for him had remained consistent over the years.

Similarly, supporters in Yagba West expressed confidence in his ambition, declaring that they considered the 2027 election an opportunity for Aro to emerge as the district’s next senator. They also pledged to work with stakeholders and supporters across the seven local government areas to secure electoral victory.

Aro expressed appreciation for the large turnout and warm reception throughout the tour, describing the engagements as encouraging. He assured the people that their support and confidence would not be taken for granted and pledged to make a meaningful impact if elected.

He also acknowledged the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, while recognising the contributions of other party leaders and stakeholders, particularly those in Kogi West, to the growth of the party.

The senatorial aspirant called on party members and supporters to remain united and work for the success of all APC candidates, beginning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the 2027 general elections.

The tour forms part of Aro’s ongoing consultations and engagement with communities and political stakeholders across Kogi West ahead of the 2027 senatorial contest.
